How to use this photo tool
A histogram shows the distribution of pixel values. The RGB histogram shows red, green and blue; the brightness histogram shows the calculated light-dark distribution. We provide counts, not an automatic judgement of the photo.

Files and results
- What you can open
- One standard JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 25 MB and 24 million pixels. Counting uses browser-decoded pixels.
- What you get
- PNG charts and a JSON file with dimensions and counts. Fully transparent pixels are skipped. Analysis does not judge quality or authenticity.
Frequently asked questions
Can the tool determine quality or authenticity?
No. The histogram counts pixel values; it does not judge quality, authenticity or AI origin.
How is brightness calculated?
For each pixel, 0.2126 × red + 0.7152 × green + 0.0722 × blue is rounded using encoded browser values. This is not a physical light measurement.
Are transparent pixels counted?
Fully transparent pixels are skipped. Semitransparent pixels count once. Browser color management can affect the result.
