An overview of the fields we could read.
This overview covers recognized fields. “Limited” means that additional data has not been fully checked.
View technical data
Metadata and browser information come from different sources. Copying, exporting and editing can change dates. We do not fill in missing time zones.
Raw metadata (JSON)
The embedded values actually read, safely normalized. Binary fields are described rather than included.
Metadata may be missing, edited or incorrect. Finding no metadata does not mean a photo is anonymous or safe to share.
Remove metadata from your photo
Choose which data to remove. Your original photo stays intact.
Removal is available for JPEG only. You can still view this format’s metadata and download a report.
What is removed and preserved?
Your selection: checked data is removed. Other supported fields are preserved. For multiple photos, your selection applies to each photo where that data was found.
Always omitted: descriptions, thumbnails and other additional data. Technical orientation and color data may be preserved; a color profile can also contain descriptive text.
Limited checks: we check the metadata this tool can recognize. The visible photo and its filename may also reveal information.
A download contains the displayed file information and metadata. Consider carefully how you store or share it.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between EXIF and metadata?
Metadata is the general term for additional file information. EXIF is one way to store camera settings, dates and GPS. XMP, IPTC and other data may also be present.
Why can’t I find EXIF data in my photo?
The photo may have been created without EXIF, or an app may have omitted metadata when sharing or exporting. We also cannot recognize every field or file variant. Try the original file; no detected EXIF does not prove anonymity or authenticity.
Why is no GPS location shown?
The location may never have been stored, may have been removed by an app or may be in an unrecognized field. The tool does not guess locations from visible content.
Is my photo sent to you for analysis?
No. Your photo and metadata are processed locally in your browser, not sent to us or stored on our servers.
Can I remove only metadata that was found?
Yes. For JPEG, only categories detected in that photo can be selected. A missing field remains disabled. Successful copies are checked again.
